It's terrible what they did to Parler. Parler is just a platform, they cannot be held responsible for the actions of individual users. This sets an absolutely terrible precedent.

Take atWar for example -- we're a platform, albeit a tiny one. People can chat and post messages here. Like any platform, sadly, we have our share of crazies too. Should our host kick atWar off its servers because of what random people post here? Do we want our host to even have that much power? Imagine our host were to start telling us to remove certain things they don't like, "or else". It's a truly scary path we're going down here.

Respectfully I would want to see that code, because I'm deeply skeptical you can get good quality code for so cheap.

$500 a month is too little.
But what i meant to say, you do not need to pay that $150k a year.
Many companies in silicon valley just attract foreign cheap tech workers anyway.
Just look at this statistics.

57% of techforce in silicon valley born outside the usa.
And this stat went to nearly 75% in 2018...

If you want to make this a serious discussion about hiring programmers then I would say, if you want to hire a foreign dev, the best value for your money is Ukraine. You can find very talented developers for around $50K USD per year.

I've hired and/or managed a lot of foreign devs in my career, and personally I have had the best success with Ukraine. Following that, Eastern Europe in general is pretty good (Lithuania/Latvia/Estonia, Romania, etc.). On the other hand Indian devs (as a whole) are the absolute worst... in my entire career I only ever found 1 Indian dev who was decent, and he charged $25 USD/hour! Not being racist, that's just being honest about what I've found through my own experience. (And yes, there are lots of other places to find good devs around the world... I'm only talking places where you can find good talent for cheap.)

So yes if I wanted to I could get a good programmer for less than $150K. Probably I could find somebody decent for as little as $50K. Sure there are cheaper devs but any less than $50K and you're very unlikely to get quality code from them.

Anyway my original point still stands... I was simply trying to say that we don't have the money to hire another programmer. $150K or $50K, it doesn't make any difference. I'm all that atWar's got, for the foreseeable future.

Its a big deal because 1) its not just an attack on Donald Trump, its an attack on all of us who support him. And 2) if they can censor the President of the United States, they can literally censor anyone.

Donald Trump was unfairly attacked the last several weeks. I'm just finally past my posting ban for having put keyboard characters into a phallic like shape. I have been itching to get on here and defend Trump from his critics. To be clear, I am not even his biggest fan. But what I've seen is a lying mainstream media that was attacking Trump for all the wrong reasons, while gaslighting the American people.

Several days ago, I heard a radio program. The entire program was all about gaslighting anybody who dares question the legitimacy and accuracy of elections. It was even said by the hosts of the program that anybody who questions elections is only doing so because of Trump. That's funny. I've owned a copy of a book called Votescam: The Stealing of America, which was written by the Collier brothers several decades ago. I've owned this book since about the year 2000. Before there was Trump, there were the Collier brothers exposing how voting machines were being rigged by CIA connected interests. And then there was the former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney who spoke out about the voting machines being used to manipulate election results.

And then Trump was viciously attacked for his phone call with the Georgia Secretary of State. It was implied that he was urging the SoS to manufacture votes on his behalf. Yet, if you listen to the call, what you would hear is that Trump sincerely believed he won the election and he was asking for a fair vote count. Whether you think he is right or wrong, the fact of the matter is he was not asking the SoS to overthrow an election, but to conduct a fair election. He was NOT asking anybody to manufacture votes on his behalf. He was pointing out that votes were manufactured for Biden!

And then January 6. As wrong as the rioting and vandalizing were, it was a very tiny number of people compared to the overall crowd that was gathered in Washington. Nothing Trump said during his speech was illegal. Yet, somehow Trump has been morphed into a demon like creature for somehow causing the rioting at the Capitol. There is some evidence that suggests the instigators of the Capitol riots were actually leftists, but regardless of what their ideology was, how does that make anybody else responsible for the actions of those who did it? Even if they were all right wing Trump supporters, that doesn't mean Trump and the rest of his supporters are guilty. Martin Luther King, Jr., gave a big speech in Washington. Why is Trump being impeached for having done the same thing? Does Trump not have the right to give speeches?

Make no mistake about it. The attacks on Trump are politically motivated. Trump was unfairly attacked.

Welcome to our first black mod

Mods are actually pretty diverse, we've had atleast 2-3 black mods, 2 Asian mods, 1 middle eastern, 2 Hispanic. Just missing women. It's a shame there are no girls that play :/

I played this game a long time ago and I think I remember playing against the AI at some point. Was there ever a way to play against the computer if there was, was it removed? Will there ever be a plan to add a PVE function to the game.

I've never seen any trace of an AI in the code. I've only been here since 2018 though, so I can't speak to what the original developers may or may not have done before me.

I do plan to add a PvE option in the future, but I don't know when. It's a big task and there are still so many other things that need to be done before we get to that point, so I assume it will be a long while.

You must be joking.

The number of active mods was around 8. Spread across 24 hours is 1 mod for every 3 hours, which almost no mod spends 3 hours a day on this game on average. It's important to have atleast 1 online for various reasons.

You might not have any idea what you're talking about.

Must be a European thing... I have no idea how that even would work. This is an American lottery, either you win or you don't.

Edit: actually this is better than an American lottery since its guaranteed to pick a winner (or in this case, 2 winners). Normal lotteries can often go without any winner.

I don't think it's intentional. Dave explained that before, though I think it wouldn't be an issue to make the lottery wheel page exposed to the public with specific time of when it's done, so people could see there is no "mismanagement".

It's where the purchase buttons are right now. When the lottery closes at 9pm (US Central time), the buttons go away and instead it says something like "lottery closed, winner will be chosen soon...". 1 hour later at 10pm (US Central time) it picks the winner and then the message changes to display whoever won. It's all automated by the system, there is no human involvement.

Why are you guys so suspicious, anyways? I mean seriously, what possible motivation would I have to cheat? If I wanted to give a mod or supporter some PCs, I would just give them. I wouldn't have to create an elaborate lottery system to do it! It makes no sense.
