Strategy Statistics, Whats Used Whats Not

Like many of us I really enjoy looking at Columnas statistics table on the top 50 players -


So I decided to do a mini version looking into what Strategies are most commonly chosen by the AtWar Community, for this I chose to look at players that are rank 9+ so 194 players. Each profile was looked at for the top 3 strategies, 1st choice gained 3 points, 2nd choice 2, and 3rd 1 point to determine their standing. Here are the findings.




So quite interesting stuff, heres some things I thought.


Premium Strategies - As would be expected premium strategies are near the bottom in selections.

Naval Commander - I found it odd how Naval commander is quite low, it is a free strategy and one you get initially.

SM / PD / GW are clearly the choices of high ranked players. Is nice to see a good variance is shown, to me it shows the strength of choices available as these three strategies work in differing ways.

I wonder if admins have stats for this for the whole community?

I don't think SM is a top choice anymore, ever since the change in tb, and the passing through units, and the SM nerf. I believe todays top strat is a strat that favors spam, like PD, GW, and IMP. PD was great back then, but now its only strats like these that spam seem to thrive.

Very sophisticated statistics for a one year old! Sad to see RA beating NC/IF/GC. GJ!

I also think this. It was interesting looking through the profiles, older players profiles seemed to have more SM and GW as first choices and certainly more variance overall, whereas newer players seem to lean towards PD/IMP. Even older players 2nd and 3rd choices lean this way, may be an indication of what you have said.

Desert Storm is a viable counter to PD and GW and helis cost the same as bombers in SM and helis can transport Marines. So i am still experimenting with this strategy. Dont ever be afraid to try something new.

DS isn't bad, although its weaker and vulnerable to SM. It has less range and costs a bit more, although in the right circumstances might be even more powerful. People just prefer SM over DS because its the orthodox thing, and its quite better. Again, DS still isn't bad.

I am under the assumption that you just looked at everyone's top 3 played strategies.

If so, this is inaccurate. For example, I play as SM, GW, or RA almost always now. Rarely, if ever, do I pick another strategy. However, I always used to play as GC between rank 4 and rank 8, so it is still my top strategy.

What I would propose is that the top strategies used by a person updates every month.

Just going a bit offtopic, but it would be good if you could see the % played for all the strats you play on the player profile. This information must already be kept in order to determine the "3 favorite". There could be options for this overall, and in the past month.

Extra cosmetics in general would be great additions, this I agree with, % strategies played show able in profile would be really good.

There should be more statistics shown on profile.
