Hey guys, Someone asked me to stop "rewalling" my moving troops, and I want to know your opinion about it. More precisely, I am walling my ship stack with 3 destroyers. Then, I move my ship stack, which includes 3 more destroyers, and rewall at the new location, etc, etc. I have always read about rewalling cities, not troops. Is rewalling troops legit? Thanks

Yes it's legitimate. You aren't leaving the ship's stack in the same place and change the existing wall with new one which is the definition rewalling in aw.

Hey, good question! I guess it's a rewall yes, and it's even worse because with cities you can put a wf to avoid rewall but with mooving troops you have to predict where the troops will moove, so it's hard to do, specificaly for new player. I remember when i was low ranks some players was doing that and it was almost impossible for me to stop it.

He's rewalling the stack from inside with another 3 destroyers. He changes the existing wall with 3 destroyers it's rewalling

I know and this is fine. It's like walling your large stack in land as you go, nobody complained about it, it's part of the strategy. It's the opponents task to wf it by guessing where the next wall will be at.

That's what I thought. It's not like my first wall "lured" That seems very different to me than moving my wall so that It's like telling me that I should not take units from a walled city, and move them into another city, and wall that city, just because the first city was walled: non-sense! Thanks for your input.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, the definition of rewalling seems to imply that I moved my initial wall away, so that units It might not be totally obvious to stop, I agree with you, but it can, as hdrakon mentioned above: "It's like walling your large stack in land as you go, nobody complained about it, it's part of the strategy. It's the opponents task to wf it by guessing where the next wall will be at.". Also, to stop me from moving forward, the opponent could wall as well ... that's a straightforward way to stop me. Anyways, I see your point, i'll take it into consideration in my final decision. Merci!

Although, to be honest, there is a part of me that dislikes the tediousness of doing this. I've played a few games where I or the opponent started walling, then the other player put units everywhere in the field to prevent rewall at multiple locations, then the other player started doing the same, and ... it was long, and boring. So ... yeah, I also see the other side of this strategy...

Ah! I did not understand that you did not move the original 3 destroyer, but it's still a rewall (from my point of view anyway) since you use new destroyer to make the wall. There is always a way to stop something if you know how to do, like serbwall but it's just considered as a boring way to play and not really realistic but it's not punishable anyway! If you only moved your wall with your stack it would be ok (but less effective obviously). But the decision is up to you! yw

Unless you are in a tournament where the rules are explicit, then rewall all day long! Totally legit. Although, I don't know how to do it. I know that sometimes Militia end up far away from a city, but I never knew that the effect was controllable. I have no idea how to rewall in my favor. Wait a minute - the new wall with Destroyers from the stack at a NEW location is NOT rewalling! The rewalling objection comes from taking advantage of an artifact of the game design to attempt to avoid wall f-ing - which only makes sense/works/applies to stationary walls! Who TF was whining about walling with new Destroyers from the stack??? Another quality player taught me that years ago - I have never had any complaints after all this time doing so.

Exactly! It's smart and realistic. It is not attempting to take advantage of some quirk or artifact or bug of the game design.
