Depend what you think wealth is. For someone, wealth is gold, money, aparments, corporations. For others, wealth is health, family, peace, harmony, knowledge, honor, respect.

but if you measure wealth like that then most european countries are equally wealthy

if you say that money means nothing then you are lying because it does, either you like it or not

Money doesn't exactly define your hapiness, yes I agree with you, family and health is more important. But you will most likely be happier when you have a normal life and are able to spend cash in things you like

Also I don't entirely think that those 400 million chinese are happy with their lives

Some people are happy with something since they don't know of anything better.

Those 400million chinese cant complain anyway, and that normal life where we can spend our cash in things we like is the developed countries way of life, not general for all countries...

Clearly best Russia is Soviet Russia.

It was actually stable. They kept the lid on radical dissidents for forty years. Something completely unprecedented in Russian history.

Czarist Russia seemed like it'll fall apart any year, and the current Russian Federation isn't much better.

Yes, i was always fascinated how USSR managed to maintain order and peace for 70 years. For example, small rich neutral Norway had massacre of 100 people in the middle of city in broad daylight. You know how they say: you either want stability but no freedom or you want freedom but no stability.

In the other hand, Russian Empire is interesting for giving freedom, you could debate about socialism, anarchism, capitalism, daily strikes and demonstrations, free speech, free movement, unions, syndicates. For example: Russian Empire had 3000 executions from 1830 to 1910, USSR had 3000 executions daily.

By the way; 'Czarist' is offensive and pejorative word for Russian Tsar. 'Cz' is Czech, Czechoslovakia, Czerny Orel, Czernomorye, Czerna Gora. Correct transliteration and anglicized version of 'Царь' is 'Tsar' (Ц = Ts). Polish version is 'czar', probably because of Russian-Polish Wars. 'Cz' on russian language is 'Ч'.
Hence Tsardom, Tsar, Tsaritsyn, Tserkov etc.

Well, I did hear that back in the Great Purges, the CCCP executed so much people that official census figures weren't adding up.
