What the poll says. I want to know what people think.
By "influential," I mean, which conurbation or city has the largest economic, demographic, political/diplomatic, cultural, and historic significance?
By "Europe," I mean that landmass between the Arctic and Mediterranean Seas, and between the Atlantic Ocean and the Ural Mountains.

Rhine-Ruhr and the Greater London Area are tied neck-to-neck, it seems.
Huh. I have to say, the results are rather different from my expectations.

Berlin isn't on the list, because I think it's a pretty irrelevant city, compared to the massive conurbations on the Rhine, and the huge diplomatic clout of London and Moscow. But your opinions have been noted.
New York? Ah... by "Europe," I meant that land area between the Ural mountains to the east, Atlantic to the west, Arctic to the north, and the Mediterranean to the south. New York doesn't qualify.
Also, I'm kind of curious who the single Randstad supporter is.

What about Benelux and not just Flemish Diamond, Belgium which is so much smaller than the other option in the pool.

Benelux as a whole is not a coherent conurbation, no matter how you look at it.
The Flemish Diamond/Randstad is already stretching it a bit.

Edited the original post to explain what I meant by "Europe."
Berlin seems to be quite popular. Unfortunately, I can't edit the poll. :/
