I've studied the beginners' room for a while now and I've noticed something. When players rank 5 and 6 don't actually join the games, they join as an alt, play as long as they can (rank 5) and then create another account. I've seen dozens of rank 5s with alts in games, and while alts aren't generally the problem, I feel this is a symptom of something else - the inability of mid-ranks (rank 5 and 6) to compete in the main room against higher ranked players, who have both more skill and more cost-efficient units (with the upgrades). Revamping the upgrade system is something that is long desired by the community and also something that will take a long time to be implemented, so I thought of something else:
This would work something like this: Rank 0, 1, 2, 3: creates games limited to max rank 3. Rank 4: creates games limited to max rank 5. Rank 5, 6: creates games limited to max rank 7. Rank 7: creates games limited to max rank 8. Rank 8+: creates games with no upper limits. This should be the default option. If the player buys the game options pack, then he'd be free to alter those limits.

I did this too, made account upon account, staying in beginners room until i was ready for the main. I'm not sure about limiting anything... games fill hard as it is.

This is interesting, us HRs can even give tips to people starting out, what they'd have to add though is also limited access to certain games (so beginners can't spectate higher ranks etc, like how it is with the lobby system, until they're rank 3). I think rank 7+ should be able to create games with no limits since I fear we'd get noob rank 8s then, if they're only fighting each other. Support.

Usually if there's a low ranked (rank 0 ~ 4) in the most SP by day list, he's an alt. There was one last week who had 20+ alts and one this week with 25+

I do not agree... the problem would be the same if you did the minimum rank idea. people can still make a new account... that's the problem not beginners room. Edit: If anything its better for high ranks (that make alts to play noobs) with this new system. they play total noobs non stop with new acc. Noobs from R1 - R3.

The problem is that usually the guys with alts are rank 5 and 6, who feel they are not ready yet for main room. By targetting those ranks, we can make them more comfortable in their own account and not want to play on the lower levels.

They should be allowed to play lower ranks until they feel confortable. BUT they shouldn't Earn SP till they click or check off a botton to indicate they are ready for main. This was they can train to be amazing. But not getting upgrades once they are r5.making it fair for the lower ranks.

Good Idea. This could be trialed easily without having to make a drastic change, which is helpful for any changes of this nature. But I still think that the only way to really improve is to be beaten a lot for a while, and people will always try and find ways to avoid this.

Maybe: Rank 0, 1, 2, 3, 4: creates games limited to max rank 6. Rank 5+ creates games with no upper limits. and get rid of the beginners lobby

No support but its a good idea. Now let me tell you why no support. This is one of the problems that cant fixed and shouldnt be changed. Why?Because when someone joins this game alone,he knows shit so he fucks up,gets sad and quit this game like most of my friends(lol). As for the rank limit its pretty the same, just think you new to this game, you are rank 0-1,you play with rank 3 max(according to your suggestions)then you rank up to 4 and play with rank 5,ok you know how to spamm units and how to make useless walls, when you reach rank 8 though it will be like the time it is now when you reach rank 5 and lose your mind by high skilled players(also rank icons are sexy).Pls comment.

If you fele the urge to create 20 alts just to stay in the beginner room that is great, if playing beginners is what you do for fun. If this is am issue, i dont think killing the beginner room would do it, as segmenting the rooms into new areas would only further isolate beginners from "pros", making it harder for normal players As an addition thing, the current plan does nothing to stop alts at all, it just makes the people who make alts to help them get better have to work harder before facing harder opponents who would help them get better (ej: r5s)

The idea is that skills will gradually filter down the ranks. As is, there is a very clear divide. Rank 4 and below plays against each other and Rank 5+ plays each other. The suggestion will remove this divide. High-rankers can play against R7, R7 will be able to play against R5~6, R5~6 will be able to play against R4, and R4 will be able to play against low ranks. Because there is no clear divide, vital skills will gradually "filter down" from the high-ranks to the newcomers through intermediaries. In any case, I support the original poster's suggestion. Not only will this make it easier for players of all ranks to play against others of similar experience, pooling the player-base will also make it easier to fill big scenarios at odd hours. However, I would recommend that "open to all ranks" also be an option, if a particular player wishes to challenge him/herself.

If this is a concern (which it is not in my opinion), why not just get rid of beginner's room and allow non-premiums to create games with rank limits (not limited, any rank limits they want)? Then the people who would've made alts to play in beginners can just limit their games to their rank and below, and those who want to play with higher ranks can do so.

Controversial suggestion: stop suggesting dumb ideas Everything's fine. Because of selected few that lose badly in main room the entire low rank community doesn't need to undergo changes. If it isn't broken don't try to fix it.

I agree remove beginners room entirely it just impedes players from acquiring skill. I don't agree with making unchangeable rank limits though.

Not a wise idea. Separating professional players from beginners is not something that we'd like to be done. Many of the players are already noob enough, no need to make them even more noobs... It won't fix the current problems. Revamping the upgrades is not something that would take any long time to implement - it is as easy as changing some values. The proposal was already made and got a very high approval rate. http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=20155 The problem with alts is something that correspond to the staff, not the community. You guys have a neutral politic about alts (Meester), something that I expect to be changed soon (to my understanding, that thread was already made).
If there was minimum rank, sure. But just imagine a recent rank 0 wanting to play a game, he doesn't know how the lobby works since he's a new player. He will go and join a game full of high ranks and get crushed in turn 2. Frustrated forever, he will stop playing (most likely). Beginners players should always play with other beginners. Being said, this would work better at the purpose of the main idea.

That is actually a good idea, but may I suggest something different How about lowering the rank limit for the beginner room to rank 3 or 4, instead of rank 5. Beginners don't actually learn that much from playing against other beginners. But playing against professional players and they learn alot such as walling effectively, using their units wisely and the like.
