In a game where I was the highest rank sp on my team for some reason the team colors would change my two teammates to the color of the second highest and leave my color the same.

It's as designed, actually. The idea is to never mix your color with others.
So if you have the highest SP in your team, the team color will be the next highest.
While not very straightforward, I guess it's still logical that way?

Oh alright wasn't sure that was the way it was intended but as long as it's consistent it's not a problem.

Well coincidentally I now have a real team colors issue. I believe I left that game with the option turned on and when I went to join a new one this happened.
