25.03.2014 - 10:43 If you think that you can determine the outcome of a battle by looking at the Attk and Def of a stack, then you are completly wrong. There is 3 factors that contribute to this: 1.- Luck 2.- HP 3.- Atwar statics never represent the real values. Luck = Critical Infantry has 5% chances of getting a critical Lucky infantry upgrade gives them a extra 2% Each time the infantry (with upgrade) takes its turn to roll the dice, thr infantry will have 7% chances of doing Twice their original attack, in this case the original attack by default is 4 (unless you are using a general which gives them +1) Luck is not static, its changes at the course of the battle, for example: If player A has 10 infantry and uses them to Attack 10 infantry of player B, player A already has a 7% luck adventage because he is the first to roll, but by default both players have a total luck potential of 70% (7% per infantry), each time a player loses 1 infantry his total luck potential will decrease by 7% So lets assume that player A first roll doesn't kill any of player B infantry, then player B rolls and kills 1 infantry of player A, now player A lost 7% luck potential value. A player effectively loses their total luck potential value when his last unit with critical dies. Total Potential luck represents the odds of at least 1 unit unit having a critical (twice their attack/deff) during 1 roll. Luck is more devastating when a unit has 7 or more (attk/deff) due to the habilitty of killing more than 2 units. In theory a stack of 20 infantry has 140% total luck potential, while a stack of 10 infantry only has 70%. HP All units have 7 hp, it doesn't matter how much attack or defense your unit has, once it suffers 7 damage, he will be with zizou. So your Rantless Attack tanks are no match to a militia with 100% critical. You may have 10 tanks with 8 attack, but they will be gone againts 11 infantry with 7 defense. You see what i did there? Your 80 attack gamble, would have lost againts my 11 lucky bastard infantry with 77 defense and 165 total luck value. GG And dont trust your crappy atwar statics, go take a look what happens to your income stats when u move your general out of your stack and move it back in. The stats never show the strat of your opponent either.

Whether these statistics are completely accurate or not (which they are not), they are still very useful because they provide a quick overall view of the matchup between your troops and the enemy's.

For accuracy's sake, according to my best information, if a crit roll is achieved, by a unit in attack or defense, the total damage they do to the enemy (with potential spillover to the next enemy) is whatever their normal damage roll is PLUS full damage (either full attack or full defense). The only time they'd do double damage is in the special case where they've done full damage during their normal damage roll. If critical rolls occur, the unit is much more likely to do greater than double their normal damage. === That being said, an infantry unit with a crit of 5 has a 5% chance of doing full attack or defense damage in addition to their normal damage roll. You cannot say that a stack of 5 infantry has a 'potential' of 25% critical damage, for a number of reasons. There is no such thing as 'total luck value'. 1. Does a stack of 100 infantry have a potential of 500% critical? Surely not; it is entirely possible that each infantry in this stack is killed before striking critical damage, it is also possible that they are victorious before critical damage is applied. 2. Combat occurs between two individual units at a time. Read the faq and other posts as to who which 'player' is the attacker and defender, but whichever role you are in, the best unit attacks or defends, based on their Attack or Defense rating. 3. Very important: Damage killing a unit spills into the next unit in your stack. This explains why, on occasion, a tank with an 8 attack can kill 3 units in one round of combat, if the circumstances are just right. 4. You may want to check on the critical value of your milita. 5. If you want a way to evaluate the expected average damage of units, based on their critical rating, use the following formula: a. Calculate Average Normal Damage (this assumes either no strategy/buffs etc. or that you've added these in) - Sum all the natural numbers from 1 to the unit's Attack (or Defense) rating. e.g. 6. (1+2+3+4+5+6) = 21 - Divide that sum by the number of natural numbers in the set e.g. 21 / 6 = 3.5 b. Calculate Average Critical Damage - Obtain the Crit rating (e.g. 7) and multiply that by .01. e.g. .07 - Multiply this number by the unit's Attack (or Defense) rating e.g. .07 * 6 = .42 c. Add Average Critical Damage to Average Normal Damage. A unit with an Attack of 6, a Defense of 6 and a critical of 7 will do an average of 3.92 Attack or Defense Damage. The unit, if attacking or defending will never do less than 1 damage, or more than 12 damage, per round of combat.
