I think that eagle is an horrible symbol for freedom, behaving like an eagle is not the way to be free and everyone who use to see it as a symbol for freedom is fucked up in his mind what do you think?

why is it a bad symbol? its perfect to me, eagle as all other big predator birds can fly unobstructed,it doesnt have to fear anything up there and definetly not being pushed down by other birds

The way it's posed on Egyptian flag doesn't bring out the predator/hunter side of it but rather the independence and individual strength it posses. Notice how its upright, straight 'shoulders', straight winds stretched towards the ground, and not a long beak. This isn't emphasizing going out and hunting other birds (oppression), but the like I said; individual strength. I doubt it's the same with U.S.A's portrayal of the eagle (its not on their flag though). In summary, the eagle is only a good symbol for freedom if you portray it as such, and not as a symbol of oppression/power coming from being stronger than everybody else.

Freedom. Same old overused word. Freedom is a buzzword and almost anyone that uses it cannot define it, cannot find an example of it and uses it as a rhetorical crutch to defend their shitty views. They also fail to describe who should and should not be 'free' forgetting that some are more free than others. The word has become a joke.

The eagle is a symbol of Imperialism originating from the Roman Empire. As I view it the history of the symbol usage has been; - 500 The direct creation of the Byzantine Empire with the fall of the Western Roman Empire 496 AD. The alleged symbol uses a twin-headed eagle with two long beaks, one crown, and open, stretching claws. This is possibly to emphasize the intention to reclaim the western part of the empire, the left head, and the unity of the envisioned empire under one crown(the Byzantine emperors crown). - 880(Or 927, whatever you want to mark as the formation of the Holy Roman Empire) Charlemagne is crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the pope. After a lengthy civil war between claimants Otto takes the title and starts using the eagle, still twin-headed, although this eagle has its wings stretching upwards as an analogue to a human flexing his/her muscles and circles of light around the heads emphasizing the 'holiness' of the Empire. - 822/870 Serbia is established out of Byzantine territories. It has the eagle as its symbol, or uses it later, and establishes a short-lived empire in the Balkans. - Crusades in Europe After the crusades into the Baltics and modern Poland, the newly created christian kingdoms there adopt an aggressive stance against the nearby pagans. Poland adopts the eagle as its symbol(this is the middle ages) - 1702 Prussia is formed out of the territories of ducal Prussia and Brandenburg. This state, as you might already known, would go into an outright aggressive frenzy over the next century. - 1776 The start of the American independence war. "The Great Seal" as it is called, almost copies the symbol of the later Holy Roman Empire and the German Confederation(1815-1866), replacing the crown with 13 stars representing the 13 colonies. In its left claw the eagle holds an olive branch, and in its right claw it holds a number of arrows. The olive branch is a symbol of peace or victory, and the arrow is clearly a symbol of war. All in all, i find the usage of this symbol horrendous. It seems to encourage the kind of social darwinism present in national socialist philosophy, and if you truly believe it is a symbol of freedom, you need to reconsider.
