In Trump's executive order, he is threatening to repeal section 230, often known as the First Amendment of the Internet. How would this affect atWar, and what are your thoughts on it?

He keeps getting cringey week by week. I wonder if he has the balls to post "I can't breathe" on social media in support of George. Or he's still going to support the armed protests in relation to the anti lockdown people

I don't think he'll succeed in what he's trying atm

I was just watching the press conference. I thought Bill Barr made some very smart points. I would imagine that Google/Facebook/the rest are not very happy with Twitter/Jack Dorsey for picking this fight with the president, because it will probably cost them the benefits they've enjoyed under Section 230 for so long.

Twitter/Google/Facebook have been censoring conservative voices for a long time... Twitter probably the worst of the three. On top of this, those companies have grown so big and arrogant, I'd thoroughly enjoy watching them taken down a peg or two. So in that sense I see repealing section 230 as a good thing.

On the other hand, for small guys like me, I like section 230 because it means I don't have to worry about being sued for whatever crazy stuff somebody may post on one of the sites I operate. (And you can bet that if any site got me in trouble, it would be atWar!) So I just hope that whatever they replace 230 with (if they do anything) will still protect us little guys in some way. If not, the end result would probably mean A LOT stricter moderation being required here.

I guess we'll see what happens.

I dont think it is a smart idea to pick a fight with tech giants when elections are coming up. Especially if these tech giants will make or break you. We do live in the internet era. Stupid to kick companies who control the internet.
