I suggest expanding a spectre of non-prem players in poll so not only your wishes are being satisfied.
Put 10 non-prem players in the poll and after 50 votes we will see who majority of community wants to get a premium.

Theres is no point in doing this... AW is dead. Admins need to re-market the game.... But they won't because they don't give a fuck. Why would you want to give someone lifetime prem worth $40 on a game with a dead competitive community? Spend your money on something worth while like Star wars battlefront or Civ5 or some shit...

Nobody is forcing you to buy/donate anything to anyone, go spend your money on Civ5, but you need to know there are players who wants to buy/donate something here, not on Civ5, which will surely motivate certain guys on playing and developing this game.

Admins did a great job which isnt over yet. They need to improve a gameplay (moving units, translating them, picking, crossing, etc...), so it become as playable as it was on SL version because atm we are losing so much time on doing a turn.
The rest of things work pretty better than on SL version.
About re-marketing, why dont you give finances to admins for re-marketing AW? Money is not growing on tree, and AW is surely not some oasis of money for them.

PS. Who the hell is playing Star wars battlefront shit ......... ............... ............. ...................... .............. .............................. ...................

As it is said to every new player on beggining, this game is FREE for all. You can play it without paying a lot of money on premium features.
Premium features are just an extra accessories for players who consider this game good enough to invest their money in it, but in fact, game is free for all.
Whatsmore, there are not so big differences between prem and non-prem players except General unit, which is only thing that is making some difference in gameplay, while on every other game, especially strategy game, you cannot have neither 30% of units for playing without premium, so please....

I want the game to do well.. so to answer your question: no, I don't' feel retarded, I feel frustrated.

As requested... a basic guide to marketing:
step 1: define your target demographic.. who does your product appeal to?
step 2: connect them with your product... if you have understood accurately enough who your target demographic is this can be done for you by your own customers if they see enough value in your product.... the beautiful thing about websites is that the product itself is flexible.

Marketing in its purist form is about word of mouth - you need to get people talking about it. AW is nerdy as fuck and people dont want to be sharing it on facebook in return for helicopters... They need more incentive than that. maybe the game should be rebranded, use different colors in the homepage, make it look more appealing to the target audience, restore competitive game play, incentives for map making... most of the incentives on the game suck... The demographic of AW players is mostly 11-18 year olds... anyone older starts to go to college or get a job so they dont have time for the game (you dont know how long a game is going to last) either that or they are older and don't have enough money for regular PC games or a console and fucking love risk.. which is why they searched "risk online" and came across AW.. google ad words has been the best investment in terms of marketing for AW so far for that 1 simple line... Now that it is in HTML, maybe they could come up with an app and get people playing on their phones and tablets more with a scaled down version of the game (but that's a lot of investment for a small uptick in hits in the short term)... the best thing they can do for little money after restoring the competitive scene is to draw other similarities with popular games and encourage people to come back after playing it for the first time with "return rewards".. you allow them to rank up faster by playing consistently, making game play more rewarding... They should also offer several days of access to premium for every new friend you introduce to the site( this would require removing insta premium for new accounts)... combined with "return rewards" this should get guys coming back and encouraging friends to play in a nice cycle (would work best if premium features are either drastically improved or made cheaper for what they currently are (should be improved though - the more unlocks the more interest) because at the moment premium is not worth $40.. what is worth $40 is the community feel and wanting to play with your friends and make them proud by winning more games.. so the key to AW doing well is improving the community.. getting more guys talking to each other and returning to the game.

Edit: i would like to stress the importance of having a competitive community to the games survival and having no premium in CW games is a huge disadvantage...

ST: Yes there are some good suggestions.More ways for players to spend protocoins is being looked at and I'm sure a lot of players will return once the interface has been polished. Maybe new players will replace the clan war scene mixed with old players, whatever happens I am sure it will return. Competitive players only filled a small proportion of the overall player base and the priority was always to switch platform asap as Silverlight was basically fuxed. As bad is it is to lose players the most important part is for the games survival. New players are more engaged and its a more seamless experience for them.
