This could be a new game-mode aside from quick/casual, where you're in a never ending tournament. This tournament can be effected by how you do in your normal games, but CANNOT effect your position in the normal game, as this will be a side from the actual game so it will not effect the game. To start the tournament game-mode, everyone starts as their normal ranks, from the main game. The concept will be like a ladder tournament, where you have to move up the ladder to be at the top. Now, that means beating other opponents in 1v1's to get to a higher level, but how do you go up a higher level? Well, I'm a level 4 right now. Since we don't want people like me going straight against someone like TopHats, you can only fight people who are one level above and below you, for me that's level 5 and 3. So I challenge a level 5 to a 1v1, and I win. So, our ranks would swap, so I'm now level 5, while the loser is level 4. This means I can now fight level 6's to go even higher. If I was to lose, nothing would change. However, if a level 3 was to challenge me (btw, you can't deny challenges so as to not keep your position all the time), and I lost that game, the level 3 would become level 4, while I move down to level 3. Seems good, right? You may be thinking "But I don't want to lose my rank!?". Well, the tournament doesn't effect the main game, but the tournament can be effected by what you do in the main game. If I was to rank up to level 5 in the real game, it would reflect in the tournament. This is so we don't get a BIG pool of level 1/2/3's at the bottom of the ladder. This is also so level 11 is the highest anyone can get, forever. It may take a long time to be able to get level 12-15, but it will be possible. SP isn't a problem in the game, the matches are for pure positional reasons. To challenge someone, you would hover over their name in normal chat, and there would be a button called "challenge". You can't press it if your rank is too low/high for the player, but if you can click it, it asks if the person wants to start the game. If the person is afk for 5 minutes, the challenge request is cancelled and the person can't be re-challenged until an hour passes. To stop people from progressing the ranks too quickly, you can only go up one rank every day. However, there are no limitations to how many people you can challenge, or how many people can challenge you. It's a constant struggle to keep your position and climb up in the ladder tournament! Oh, for those of you who are boring and don't want to play, there will be an option to "opt out" of the tournament, so you can continue your normal AW lives. Comment on what you think, I know this isn't perfect, so help me improve on the idea.

I don't like the never ending tournament idea. I think, just like casual games or anything you can pick to be entered into a tournament. If you win the tournament, congrats you get a nice little SP boost. If you lose what ever. And it shouldn't be "away" from the main game. Just make tournaments an option such as scenarios are. But good idea overall.

Don't ruin the post of another player that did take the time to write down some idea's. If you don't want to read, then don't make a post at all. Message deleted. OT: I like the idea, but i think its hard to implement. Maybe its a good idea (if implemented) to combine this with the ELO ranking system that has been discussed earlyer.

The concept is basically getting two people in a Europe(+?) game, and swapping their ranks if the lower rank wins.
