I propose this for quick games with 10+ people.

First turn peace,
Turn 2 to Turn 4 is FFA
Turn 5 you receive a pop-up "Conference" screen with the power of players shown (existing stats like Income, Units killed, units lost and k/d ratio etc)
starting this turn you can decide to peace/ally, now you know more information about other players

This screen can then be accessed in the players menu etc and is updated every reinforcement week.

This screen could also feature a mass vote to ally end or not, using "game option change" mechanics....

Opinions/comments?

So you can choose whether you want to ally end instead of it just ending. that would make backstabbing significantly easier

Blackshark
Brukerkonto slettet
Conference should pop up in turn 3. Pops again in turn 5 and then pops up every 5 turns.

You don't lose any sp from Ally End... Backstabbing easier? You are misunderstanding this. This "Conference" is from the historical and current concepts of balance of power.

The problem with AW is that many high-ranks are happy to grind out 50 turns to win... effectively forcing everyone to surrender/abandon. Which is more unfair in my opinion. AW atm can be time-dependent more than skill dependent lol.

You didn't say how that would stop allyfagging. And if it does not require unanimous vote to Ally End, then it's unfair; and if it does require, has no difference from the current way to Ally End.

Ally fagging is normally the self protection of a group against the annihilation by a high rank. Therefore, if they allyfag and then vote to ally end quickly, the sp they each earn would be minimal. Instead, the logical choice would be to each fight it out, get a load of sp and ally end by vote on the brink of loss (bailed out by greater power in real life terms.)

PS: How is it unfair to allow majority rule here? It's like saying USA can go on a rampage without China embargoing products and Middle East sanctioning oil delivery cuts/removal. In many cases, it becomes 1 person who has the time to dwell on for 50 turns and win all sp for himself. Ally End vote by majority ensures that people don't leave because they are half bored to death, being ripped off by another player and receiving tuppence in the end.

You do lose sp if you ally end (atleast in my mind you do) because you have to share the 50% sp of your defeated enemies, this is one of the reasons i backstab, if i feel i have done all the work and they have sat there all game i will make it known and beat the crap out of them, i mean if a guy is getting 25% of the sp of the enemies i defeated, this is hardly fair is it.

I very rarely grind out a 50 turn win, as the game progresses your enemies will have more income than you compared to what they had 20 turns ago simply because they may have more provinces and as such are gaining a bigger overall income increase, which means they can use noob flood easier on you. If i'm against lower ranks i will be extremely agressive, if you look at my latest games, i very very rarely go defensive and get to the 50 turn stage. people who wait out are noobs, it increases your chance of failure.

everything you have said here just makes it more likely for people to allyfag because they know that even if they are on the brink of defeat they can just end the game with a victory even if their higher rank opponent is beating the utter shit out of them.

The best way to stop allyfagging would be to impose a maximum number of alliance requests that can be sent in a certain span of turns.

If you are already overwhelming the novice players in that game, then the 25% SP "Lost" should already be minimal. Should players sit there and ally end and the end, their low sp is the result of their own demise.

Exactly because you are so offensive, that other players ally against you; which is the cause of Allyfagging. You don't have the grind out the 50 turns because you are capable of killing everyone else before that threshold, which is beside the point.

You haven't read what I have previously written... It's not a "victory" as such, but armistice brought on by the losing and other countries. How they were losing but bailed out, allows them to reflect on strategies in future games and not get fully embarrassed, which allows the development of their skills. Allyfagging in the game would not be beneficial for reasons previously mentioned.

PS: Cut the rude language... you were rank 2 once as well... If we can treat low ranks better, allowing them to bridge the rank4-5 gap, AW will definitely have more players at peak times. "Farming" of new players brings this game down... The irony of march recruitment fuelled by high ranks...
