A long-awaited update for the turn-blocking mechanics:

  • Turn blocking now only works if you have more than 50% the amount of units of your opponent (whom you're trying to block). Blocking huge stacks with 1 unit will no longer work.

  • The chance of turn blocking is now determined by the difference in the amount of units between you and your opponent. Chance % = your units count / opponent units count. So, for example, 3 vs 10 will have a 30% chance to turn-block, 5 vs 10 - 50%, and so on. Max chance is fixed at 50%.

  • If the opponent has less than 4 units in the stack, turn-block will work exactly as before.

  • It's now possible to walk through all non-city units, unless they are part of a defence line. This was implemented to prevent an exploit.

I think this will be better for new players. A player who didn't know about turnblocking never stood a chance against a veteran players. This is good for the game.

If they had added TB to the tutorial, all would be well.

Not from our perspective son. Remember now with this update a 2v1 or a 3v1 will kill you because you don't stand a chance anymore. I also do favor the older order of moves system because it was easier to kill a groups of units. Even with superior numbers now this is hard. Now I only have one thing to say about this experience.

    Do they = 2 50% attacks or 1 50% attack?

For units numbering from 1-4 about one unit should bloack them, but if higher lets say like 24 you'd need about 12 units to block it. Make any sense? Also non-city units are basicly Bombers, Infantry, Tanks, Marines, Stealths, ect, but basicly they are units you can move. Make any sense?

12 units to have a 50% chance of blocking 24.

So the underlined Part is just crap, in fact i have 100%chance when Using 50+% of the enemys stack amount AND it has a higher priority.

    Correct?

    All correct

So blocking a Stack of 24 with a Stack of 12 should have a chance of 100%, if priority is same or even higher

    Ok what im saying is

    1st move
    -stack A(a) attacks B's stack

    2nd move
    -stack A(b) attacks b's stack

Do both A stack account for separate attacks or are they all summed up in one net attack?

ALSO, do move # even count anymore because my first game post-TB update I did not notice any effect on my move #

Ok for even more purposes can you guys re-able the "can't walk through units" thing. I find it a bit harder for other players to defend their stacks with out the flower power. It also made strategic blocks less expensive. Just something to throw out there.

I don't understand moving such large amounts of units to turn block if it only works 50% of the time. It just leaves ur cities less defended and you moved your units for nothing. If a turn block is unsuccessful why can't the units stay where they were originally positioned.

Well I'd guess still, if you moved the units from the city they'd be in range to go back to the city.
And about why the units still move: My guess would be because that was your move. The game doesn't know it was a "turnblock" so it just proceeds with the game normally if their units get to move unhindered.

My situation was like this. my city was inland. my opponent used 4 or 5 transports to bring units ashore. his transports easily sailed right through my line of 8 submarines. imo those units should have drowned but because of the number of units my convoy was completely ineffective. to me, thats a game glitch. would defense line work ?

    Two problems.
    1. You can move your units through any units, unless they're in a defense line or city.
    2. Any and all types of stealth units can't make defense lines.

wait, what? can we get this straight now? i've read the entire thread, but we're still not clear. and does this really have to be made both so complex and hard to understand, and so reliant on randomness? how does it help noobs if no-one can understand it? wouldn't it be better to just add turn-blocking (along with stealth detection, please, oh and more accurate info about defence lines) in the tutorial?

and while we're at it a "press this button for tutorial", "buy upgrades here" for new accounts?

i found it all quite confusing and annoying until i found some people willing to explain (aren't many of them).
